*Happy Democracy Day, Enugu North!* 

This year's Democracy Day is the first I'm celebrating with ndi b'anyi as senator. Our democracy is worth celebrating, if to do justice to the memories of those who sacrificed their lives and their freedoms for democracy to take root in our country. The current hard times might make us question the need for democracy, but let me  assure us that democracy has no better alternative. We must continue to work for the improvement of the Nigerian brand of it until it becomes near-perfect. I'm a senator today because we in this part resolved to make our votes count and be counted during the 2023 elections.

Let us therefore continue to trust in the system and hope for better times in the near future. There's no perfect system or perfect democracy anywhere in the world.
